We have so much to be thankful for at RCS this year. We are blessed with new families, new teachers, and new students. In the 1st quarter we were blessed with much success as a school community. Our Volleyball coaches won the Coach of the Year Award. Congratulations, Mr. Bedics and Mr. Pobre! Our boys and girls cross country team competed strongly at the Championship Meet, where the boys took 1st place and the girls took 2nd place. Way to go Mr. Rotter and Mr. Marino! Our Middle School students swept the Academic Olympics at Camden Catholic, taking 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in a competition that included all the Catholic Schools in our area. Congratulations to Jack Tartamosa, Luke Keller, and Mason Quinn. We have parents who give of their time and talent to enrich our school community by coaching, producing/directing, teaching, and serving others, from Broadway Kids to Middle School Service Group to PTA events like the Fall Festival and the Halloween Party. I have never been prouder of our school community and all we do to provide our children with vast opportunities to learn and grow spiritually, academically, and socially.
This fall we took time during religion class to support Mitzvah Day. Preschool students made utensil kits, Primary and Middle School students made candy bags for the Cathedral Kitchen, the Intermediate students made blankets. By taking the time to practice our faith, we came together and grew stronger as a community, but most importantly we made a difference. This past Wednesday, my son Timmy and I, brought the blankets to Joseph's House in Camden. The weather was turning cold and blistery. When we got there, the woman at the door shared that she had just given out their last blanket 5 minutes before we got there. She was estatic and beyond grateful to provide her clients with clean, warm, colorful blankets. WE MADE A DIFFERENCE on Wednesday and it was due to the teacher's initiative, the parents support by purchasing supplies, and your children's hard work. Together we showed our love and care for others and for that I am truly thankful to all of you. Thank you for all you do to support our school and it's mission.
